ACS Symposium

COSMETIC NANOTECHNOLOGY: POLYMERS AND COLLOIDS IN PERSONAL CARE

Washington, DC, August 28-September 1, 2005

CALL FOR PAPERS!

Objective

This meeting is intended to be dramatically different from previous meetings on personal care technology in that it will concentrate on the basic chemistry, physics, and nanotechnology applications in personal care. The symposium will begin with a tutorial and will extend to state-of-art technology in personal care. Emphasis will be placed on the components of cosmetics and personal care: synthesis and design of materials, additive and surfactant interactions, polymers and colloids, testing methods and claim substantiation. Discussions will focus on the challenges and advances in cosmetic nanotechnology to facilitate a fundamental understanding of the personal chare chemistry. An advanced schedule is attached.

Plenary Speaker - Dr. Philip Cummins
Executive Director of Physical Chemistry and Polymer Technology, Estee Lauder Companies, Inc.

Symposium Information and Abstract Deadline
For contributed papers and posters, the preprint and abstract deadline is April 25, 2005. Please send your abstract (limit 150 words) to a Symposium Chairperson. If you would like additional information, please contact a Symposium Organizer.
