Call for Proposals 1999
The topical areas funded by these awards change from time to time. Past awards have been granted for projects such as: new courses in polymers, especially those involving laboratory work, the development of polymer laboratory experiments, the preparation of classroom materials, interactive computer programs and instructional videotapes, and cooperative projects between universities and local K-12 schools. This list is meant to be illustrative and is not exhaustive nor limiting with regards to the types of projects that POLYED will support. POLYED is usually looking for innovative proposals which will have the biggest potential impact on the polymer education.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit a short (one page) description of the proposed project to Professor John Droske at the POLYED National Information Center, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Stevens Point, WI 54481, (715) 346-3703. This description should include a brief abstract of the proposed project, an estimate of the level of funding that would be requested from POLYED, an estimate of the time period for the grant, and any anticipated matching funds for the project. All "pre-proposals" will be given careful consideration. Authors of successful pre-proposals will be encouraged to submit a more detailed proposal not to exceed ten pages total. Pre-proposals may be submitted to Professor Droske at any time but March 1, 1999 is the deadline for receipt of pre-proposals to be considered in Spring 1999.
