ACS Polymer Division Industrial Advisory Board

 

 

Formally the POLY Industrial Sponsors

Purpose: 

 

Strategic amplification of the ACS Polymer Division’s (POLY’s) industrial voice in programming, education and award recognition

 

Function:

 

Programming

    - provide strategic recommendations to the ACS Polymer Division on future programming topics

 

Education

    - structure future educational initiatives relative to industrial hiring/continuing education needs
     - lead the polymer community with K-12 educational programs (IPEC) that the Board funds

     - participate in PolyEd

 

Awards

    - provide direction for future and current industrial awards.

    - foster graduate student involvement (through travel and presentation awards) ....see previous winners...

    - support undergraduate symposia at national meetings (undergraduate presentation awards)
    - reward outstanding industrial polymer scientists (
Industrial Polymer Scientist Award)

  • IAB industrial members can nominate industrial candidates for the ACS Fellows and POLY Fellows awards.

IAB Sponsorships:

  • The IAB sponsors two $500 awards for best oral and poster presentation at the Undergraduate Research in Polymer Science Symposium at the National ACS Spring meetings.
  • The IAB will sponsor the 2010 National Graduate Research Polymer Conference.
  • The IAB sponsors the Polymer Ambassador Program.
