| Here are some suggestions and rules that may be useful for list members:
- The list is restricted to Division of Polymer Chemistry, Inc. members, student members, and affiliates. You can join on-line.
- To sign off the list - use this page.
- To change your e-mail address on the list - use this page.
- To send a message to the list (send the e-mail message to: POLY-L at LISTSERV.OKSTATE.EDU (without the spaces and with the at sign)
- NOTE: LISTSERV (our software) will only allow you to send e-mail to the list from the EXACT address that you registered to the list on. For some of you, there may be forwarding that you are unaware of. If you get an error message on sending, you may have to change your change your e-mail address on the list (see above). For more information on the OSU ListServ services, go to: http://listserv.okstate.edu/
- If you have problems, please send a message to Frank Blum.
- Generally reply to the individual sending the message and not the whole list. Occasionally replies may be of interest to the whole list.
- As a general rule, attachments create problems for many on the list. Please try not to send them to the list. Many firewalls don't accept them and they tend to clog mailboxes. A much better alternative is to post a short summary to the list with a link to the web pages where the detailed information can be found for those who are interested.
- Please see that your automatic vacation messages, etc. get sent to the "sender" of the message and not the "from" field. Your IT professional may be able to help here. In other words, the whole list doesn't care if you won't be back until Thursday.
- Advertising that may be of interest to POLY members is permitted. If you wrote a book, software, or have a product that is polymer-related, the list members may be interested, but please, don't repeat it too often. Do not send information to me to post to the list for you.
- Please be courteous to POLY list members. Remember we are united by an interest in polymers, not computer expertise. NO FLAMES PLEASE!
