POLY Awarded 2000 ChemLuminary Award

At the 2000 ChemLuminary awards, the Division of Polymer Chemistry, Inc. was honored with a ChemLuminary award based on its performance in 1999. This was the first time that ChemLuminaries were given to technical divisions. The citation read:

The ChemLuminary Award

POLY has exhibited its innovation and outstanding service to members through its 2000x2000 Campaign with the goal of getting 2,000 new members by the end of 2000 - the division was more than half way there as of the end of 1999. They are the first division to use electronic preprints in partnership with the ACS Publications Division. POLY maintains an active list service and used extensively by members to get general information from each other on technical matters. POLY has established a new committee to interface with the Program Committee to ensure industrial content and involvement in programming.POLY has exhibited its innovation and outstanding service to members through its 2000x2000 Campaign with the goal of getting 2,000 new members by the end of 2000 - the division was more than half way there as of the end of 1999.
