ACS POLY invites nominations for the POLY $500 Student Travel Award to attend the IUPAC World Polymer Congress June 24-29, 2012 at the Virginia Tech Campus, Blacksburg, VA. Nomination Deadline is April 16, 2012. (3/12)
The winner of the 2012 AkzoNobel Award for Outstanding Graduate Research in Polymer Chemistry is Dr. Garret Miyake, who earned the Ph.D. in 2011 at Colorado State University under the mentorship of Prof. Eugene Chen. The award will be presented at a symposium in honor of Dr. Miyake at the American Chemical Society National Meeting in Philadelphia August 19-23, 2012 in the Division of Polymeric Materials Science and Engineering. The ACS Division of Polymer Chemistry is pleased to announce the winner of the 2012 Industrial Polymer Scientist Award, Dr. Babu N. Gaddam, a 3M Corporate Scientist and adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas. (3/12)

The 10th National Graduate Research Polymer Conference will be held May 21 - 24, 2012 and is hosted by the Macromolecular Science and Engineering Department at Case Western Reserve University. (2/12)
Dr. Benny D. Freeman of the Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin will receive the Roy W. Tess Award in Coatings for 2012. An award symposium in his honor will be organized by PMSE for the Fall 2012 ACS meeting in Philadelphia.
